Each item will automatically have 3 additional columns on the right
side—the first is for the filename, second for the created date
and third for modified date. The dates are useful for any item, but
they're particularly handy for diary entries and similar type of records,
as they allow you to sort them in the order they were entered.
If you wish to be able to look at the list of diary entries filtered by
a certain month and year, you can add them as tags when you enter each
diary, e.g. you might add two tags, "nov" and "2008", and then
filtering by these tags will only show you the relevant items.

You might be wondering about the field at the bottom labeled "attached
file". This field allows you to use Tobu almost as a tag-based
filesystem—you can enter just the filename in the title area and
a set of tags that describe the attached file. Hitting "open" will
launch the file with the associated viewer app. In addition, you can use
this feature to attach a file to illustrate or expand on the body of an
item; for instance the lentils entry could have a jpeg of lentils
attached.
You can also drag and drop files into the text area or in attach area, they will show up in attach area either way.
